Cooling towers dissipate heat by transferring energy from the water to the surrounding air. However, most of the installations we see run on fixed speed pumps, making no allowance for the varying load.
If the flowrate is not matched to the demand, then the cooling tower is not running at optimum efficiency, and the pump(s) are also wasting energy.
Installing variable speed pumps allows for the system’s load to be matched constantly.
Additionally, pump wear, noise, and most importantly energy costs are significantly reduced.
If you would like a site survey to establish whether your cooling towers are running optimally, please let us know.
